Information

The second adult team within the club will be in first year of a regular weekly competition having played in the Midlands Merit League in 2010 in which it reached the semi finals. The team will play in the Rugby League Conference Eastern Division against teams such as Bedford, St Ives, Sudbury, Norwich and Bury St Edmunds giving 10 league fixtures. Similar to the first team, there is then a playoff format for the top 4 teams in the division culminating in a Grand Final. The winners of the Grand Final then move into the National Quarter Finals, Semi Final and Final.

Apart from the National Semi and Final, all fixtures take place on a Saturday afternoon kicking off at 2.30pm. The semi final and final will be played on a Sunday and along with the quarter finals are played on neutral venues.

The team trains on a Wednesday night from 7pm until 8.30pm and a Friday from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. Sessions take place at Northampton Casuals RFC in Rushmills. The coaches of the team are Patrick Wilson and …………. Patrick is UKCC Level 2 qualified and is also employed by Northampton Rugby League Ltd as a Community Rugby League Coach. He is also one of the founding members of the club and in previous seasons has successfully coached a number of junior teams within the club.

All players need to be registered with the RFL and to join the club costs £50.00 for the season. Match fees are £5.00 for a home game or an away game where no coach travel is utilised. There will be an increased fee for any away games where a coach is booked. We provide a fully qualified physiotherapist who is at both training and matches and all players are fed at home games.

The second team will have a high standard to reach with the first team winning the RLC East Grand Final for the last 2 seasons, a pressure that Patrick will be able to live with.
